Thanks for sharing! This is a nice technique.

You can also use Qdabra's qRules to save images to a SharePoint picture library. qRules automatically converts the picture to a link and uploads in the background which provides a nice performance advantage for the end user and doesn't require code nor custom workflows.

Web form file attachment

So about a year ago I started looking into developing an InfoPath web form that submits information to a SharePoint document library. I quickly got the error message base64binary for the file attachment control when I tried to promote it. Soooo, I went about it a different way at the time. Today I found some new and interesting ways to get around this, namely, using a custom workflow to extract the data from the form and post it in a picture library, while linking the pic in the original document library. Trouble is, I don’t have the custom action in my workflow, and I don’t manage the SharePoint server. But I thought I would share with the rest and also see if anyone has any other ideas. http://www.deviantpoint.com/post/2009/06/06/Custom-SharePoint-Designer-workflow-for-extracting-InfoPath-attachment-fields.aspx http://sarangasl.blogspot.com/2009/11/sharepoint-workflow-actions-for.html
