The first link really helped me out and I'm disappointed that it only appeared in 1 of the 10+ posts I saw regarding filtering SharePoint lists for browser forms.

Re: Filtering Sharepoint Lists by view

Hi lngarrett,

... first of all --- you have more than one option to achieve this.

For the first option please have a look at: http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2007/01/15/populating-form-data-from-sharepoint-list-views.aspx

The second option is programmatically --- and the better way in my personal opinion:

You can use the so-called "Lists"-Webservice from SharePoint to retrieve a filtered list from SharePoint. If you are interesting in this technique you will find a good introduction here:

http://seroter.wordpress.com/2008/06/06/building-infopath-web-forms-with-cascading-lists/

Hope that helps,

Filtering Sharepoint Lists by view

I might be going down a very long and endless path here, but I am determined to get some type of filter ability in browser forms. I have a list of Bus Routes that only run on certain days. These bus routes populate a drop-down control in an Infopath form. I would like for users to be able to select a day of the week and then only see bus routes for that day. I can do this fine in sharepoint. For example, I have a "Days" column with data like "M,T,W" or "F". I can create a view in SharePoint to only show routes that correspond to a certain day. So I was thinking - Is there any way to tell a drop-down control in Infopath to only select a certain view from sharepoint?

This seems like such a simple process I refuse to believe that it can't be done in a browser-enabled form. Any ideas?
