Sometimes InfoPath attachment control behavior is different. Can you remove once that attachment control from InfoPath UI and added it agin from datasource. Then you will get editable for User B.

Re: File attachment control

I am using Moss 2007 and Infopath 2007. When I attach a word document or a excel spreadsheet to a infopath form, User B's attachment only opens as "read only". I do not have any conditional formatting for the control. I submit the infopath form to a sharepoint library. Thank you for any suggestions.

Re: File attachment control

Hi,

I have tried this out and it is working fine for me. Once you check any conditional formatting is there on the control as shiva said.

Re: File attachment control

Hello Welcome to the Forums,

By default it will open attachment to any user. Do you have any conditional formatting for that control?

How you are sending the forms from User A to User B? Are you using SharePoint?

File attachment control

All, I have a InfoPath File Attachment Control Question:
Person “A” fills out a infopath form, attaches a excel spreadsheet and then submits the form. Person “B” receives the form and wants to open the excel spreadsheet and make additions/corrections to the attached spreadsheet. When person “B” opens the excel spreadsheet, its “READ ONLY” and no changes can be made to the excel spreadsheet. Can any settings be changed allowing a excel spreadsheet to be opened and changes made, then re-saved to a infopath form?My solution is to open the “read only” file, save it locally – rev 1, make updates to the file, then attach the modified file (rev 1) to the infopath form.

I would like to know if you have any ideas how I could solve this problem.

Thank you for your help.
