Thanks for the replay, Shiva.

As I have mentioned, I am sourcing data from webservice for dropdown which also does filtering. But even after filtering there can be situations where WS may return thousands of items to show in dropdown.

Hello,

How you are getting that secondary drop down values? Are you using any code? Can you try to load those values in JavaScript code rather that onLoad code for InfoPath form?

We don't have option to filter out that value from dropdown list in partial entering the data.

Hello,

I have got,
- Web form
- cascading drop downs with large drop down lists with up to 10000+ items in parent combobox
- Web service as drop down data source.

This current setup works well for a small amount of data. As number of item increases, form load becomes very slow and becomes very hard to find values from comboboxes.

My questions are,
1) What would be the best approach to let user select from large list? Can you suggest any controls or techniques?

2) What can we do to let user fast select from combo list? e.g. user type few initial characters and drop down filters data.

3) Is it possible to have large, user friendly, browser enabled drop down or Infopath is wrong tool for this? What would be an alternative? good old asp.net webapp?
