I would have perferred to get Excel Services and InfoPath playing nicely, but due to a time contraint I had to move forward with a different method.

I ended up using a SharePoint Calculation field to do the following calc:
=INT(([Column 2]-[Column 1])*24) (Difference between dates in hours when the time exceeds 24hours)

Note: The date/time format required is mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss (05/15/2008 13:25)

And used the following Rule based off a checkbox in InfoPath to format the date and time of the fields as needed:
concat(substring(today(), 6, 2), "/", substring(today(), 9, 2), "/", substring(today(), 3, 2), " ", substring(now(), 12, 5))

Note: Using the Now() function returns the date and time as 2008-08-25T15:19:53, the method above converts it to the necessary format for the sharepoint calculated field to do its magic.

Hope this helps!

Help issues with Trusted form and excel services

I have a fully trusted form using the excel services web service as outlined in this post:

http://enterprise-solutions.ikreate.nl/infopath2007/calculate-date-difference-infopath-rules-excel-services.htm

I am using the instructions above to a T, and I am having two issues

#1. When I try to open the browser based form from SharePoint and I receive the following message:
"Select a Form Template to open XML File", when i select my file that I have uploaded I receive the error "The element 'comment' is used but not declared in the DTD/Schema."
(This file has been published to the sharepoint library already, but I still recieve this error)

#2. if I open the form (from infopath in preview mode and try to run rules applied in the link above, I receive an error
"The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: OpenWorkbook
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

You do not have permissions to open this file on Excel Services."

I have the excel file in a trusted library, and I am only using Alternative Access mappings for the portal in general, not the site. I have also made sure to give the internal/external access mapping for the said library where the excel file is located.

I have Farm Administrator rights. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong. Help is Greatly Appricated!!
