Cascading drop-down controls

Hello, I have been searching how to place cascaded drop-down boxes in a web-enabled infopath form.(list data for a drop-down is filtered depending on the item selected in the previous drop-down). I have seen several pages saying that a good solution is to build a custom web-service and retrieve the data from it. I think that this is the best (and only) solution if the data is stored in custom databases.

In my case, the lists that contain the data I want are Sharepoint standard lists. So, as far as I know I can use the "List Data retrieval web service" provided out-of-the-box in Sharepoint. This way, list data for the drop-down can be retrieved from the web-service after filtering. The problem is that I cannot figure out how to use this web service from Infopath. When I get to the point of creating the new receive-data-connection, I get lost among all the parameters used by the service. I have also tried to fill a few until I got to the point in which the error is:

Field and AllFields members cannot appear at the same time

And I do not know how to make it work.
