You can set the row to auto height in the table options - but if you have borders, those will still show. You could set the row to auto height and remove the horizontal borders, then add a border on the top and bottom of your sections you are hiding. When you create the condition, on the first dropdown, click on select a field or group. When the field picker opens, click the link under the data source to show in advanced mode. Then, the Value field should have a dropdown at the bottom of the dialog, as per my earlier screenshot? You could also change my sample condition so that the first dropdown is "the expression" and InfoPath will show you the XPath expression for the condition.
