Hiyas,

Long time reader, first time poster.

In IP 2010, I have a list/form that we use for reporting, one field is for ‘comments’ and I need it to be multi-line. I intend to have the fields display in the browser, users can come to the page to make their updates (add append delete comments from the existing text box), and ‘submit’ them back to the list.

Previously I had users directly editing the list items from web parts, but I'd like to avoid that now, If i can overcome this then we can do the udpates directly from the browser (with CAML). I just can’t seem to get a multi-line text box to work (be editable) in a repeating section from a secondary data source. If I use a multi-line column field it is set to read only and I can’t change it.If I select multi-line on a plain text field it automatically becomes read-only

How do people overcome this?
