How can I implement a digital signature for a Browser enabled InfoPath Form?

Hi, We have an existing InfoPath form that was developed by a previous team member. This form generates a PDF when a button is clicked, containing the entered details. The button's 'Action' is specified in 'Rules and Custom Code.' While most of the text appearing in the PDF is sourced from the InfoPath form itself, the database, or the entered data, there is some default text that I'm unable to locate. I've checked various sections including the infopath form views, all the properties tab, Control properties, rules, custom code logic, data connections, database on servers, default text fields, but to no avail. Could you please assist me in locating where this default text is stored? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Multiple-Selection List Box - Multiple controls bound to one field

Hello All! My organization is currently using a combo of InfoPath 2013 & SharePoint 2016 (I know... very dated and soon to be unsupported, but all I have to work with unfortunately). I've been building forms for a while and have been able to work around many of the numerous quirks of InfoPath; however, I've hit a wall with one of the latest requirements. I have a SharePoint 2016 list where each item is an individual project. From there, I have built an "Impacted Teams" field where users will use the InfoPath form to indicate the teams involved with the project. My issue lies in the fact that I have about 50 different teams that can be selected, so adding them all to a single Multi-Selection List Box creates a list that is long and difficult for users to navigate. My ideal solution would be to have numerous Multi-Selection Lists Boxes that are all bound to my single field and then filter down each control so that each one only displays the teams from one department. I have been able to get this far, but since the controls are bound to the same field, if I select an option from one control, it will automatically display that as a selected option in all of the other controls below all of the filtered options. Is there any way I can prevent the controls from displaying the options that were selected in the other filtered controls? In the past, I had to create 20+ separate fields/columns for each department to store their team impacts, but it would be much more ideal to capture all in a single field. Example attached to help visualize the problem I'm encountering. If this isn't possible, is there an alternative solution to insert text header rows between the checkboxes in the Multi-Selection List box to break up the different departments? Thanks so much! user issue - can only attach one file to a browser form

Hi Infopath devs

Wondering has anyone ever come across an issue where your users both have identical Permission groups on SharePoint but one user can only ever attach one file to the InfoPath browser form and the other user can attach more than one?

I have read elsewhere that users should have edit permission level to attach more than one file but this doesn't make sense as neither user in this instance have edit permission level.

I am getting around this by telling them to zip files if multiple attachments are required but very curious as to why this may be happening in the first place?

The helpdesk have said its a feature!
Joking but their response wasn't much better.

Rest API doesn't work in InfoPath browser form for SharePoint online

We had an Infopath browser form in SharePoint 2013 with a drop down list filled with rest api data connection. We used rest api because this dropdown list had 10000 plus items. It was completely working fine in SharePoint 2013 as a full trust admin published template. The issue started when we migrated it to SharePoint online. We made the template works in SharePoint online browser. Bust rest api data connection keeps throwing error: Error : XML data that is required for this form to function correctly cannot be found. Before taking decision on re developing the complete solution in Spfx. I wanted to hear it from the Infopath experts. Is it possible to load 10,000+ items in infopath browser form dropdown list in SharePoint online? Will rest API work in infopath form SharePoint online? Is there any other way to make this possible?

InfoPath Form field Element ID's Keep Changing

Is there any particular reason an elements id would keep changing if no changes have beem made to the form in design view? Example: id="ctl00_m_g_2cd39c29_ceed_4d60_864b_541d9f025a2b_FormControl0_V1_I1_S13_I3_T1" changes to: id="ctl00_m_g_2cd39c29_ceed_4d60_864b_541d9f025a2b_FormControl0_V1_I1_S13_I2_T1" Notice the I3 in the id changes to I2. I use JS to grab values from some of my forms and on one particular form it keeps changing back and forth like this for no reason. When I do make upgrades to the form I do expect and accomodate the change, however, when no changes are made I'm kind of baffled.

cannot update an existing form template - "the parameter is incorrect"

We have been using for services for over a year now and we're now running into a problem when we try to update form templates. We can publish new forms to the same site, but when when we try to update any forms, we get the following error: "InfoPath has encountered an error. The operation failed. The parameter is incorrect." We're thinking that our Forms Template site is too full (212 forms published to the same site). We really don't know alot about this as we had an outside vendor set our site up for us.

What is the best way to print out the form?

I have created a form that is connected to a sharepoint website. I was wondering if there is anyway of printing out this form from sharepoint? Can I add a printing feature onto the form or something?

tabbing out of a repeating table

I have a requirement that a form can be completed without the use of a mouse. The tab key words great to move the user from field to field, until I come to a repeating table with RichTextBoxes. The tab key moves me through the repeating table until I come to the last row, last column - the tab key does not gracefully take me to the next field. If I hold down the tab key, the cursor eventually jumps to another field. Does anyone know if there is a better key sequence to leave the repeating table? I've tried Alt-Tab, etc., but haven't yet stumbled upon the answer. Thank you!! --Susan

How can I add a file attachment onto my form?

I have a form that has two views, the default view, New Item, has some secondary data source fields. I would like to add another field that gives the user the ability to attach files. How can I create a file attachment field through xml and/or how can I add this field on the main data source? Also this form pertains to a sharepoint list.

How can I set one of my secondary data fields as a check box?

Attached is my form and I have a XML secondary data source. From it I have a field named "HotRevision_Temp", this field I want to work as a check box so that when the save button is pressed, I can set "DesignHotRevision" in the Main data source equal to "HotRevision_Temp" from the secondary data source. The "DesignHotRevision" field is used in the 'Edit Item' view and in this view it is seen as a checkbox which is why I want to set it equal to a check box. However, Im not sure if this possible so any suggestions on how I can do this would be awesome?

How to set a XML field as a date type?

Send Attachments in Email

Infopath 2013, SP 2013 On Premise. I need to send an attachment in an email. I've tried adding a Link to it and I get a 404, Page not Found. If I just add it as a Field from the Current Item, all I get in the email is 'True'. How can I get an attachment to get attached to the email? Thanks, John

Why can't I set a value as a default?

In the New Item view, the default view, I have a secondary data source field which I want to use as a drop down list (Inventory Disposition). I am editing the choices but for some reason I can't set any of the choices as a default. What am I doing wrong?

Is it possible to disable "Insert Item" for a repeating section?

I have a repeating section in my form but there are some repeating sections that I don't want the Insert Item to appear. I know that one can select the "Don't allow users to insert or delete this control" feature when selecting the section, but this still allows the user to see "Insert Item". I would like to make it disappear and disable it. The attached form seems to disable and make disappear Insert Item but Im not sure how.

How can I set a main field equal to a secondary field?

I have two form views and on the default view, there is a field called PartNumber_Temp which is a part of a Secondary data. The second form view has a field called DesignPartNumber. I tried setting the DesignPartNumber equal to PartNumber_Temp so that I can see this value in the second form view but it doesn't display this value even though sharepoint shows DesignPartNumber having the value of PartNumber_Temp on the list. So on the form itself it doesnt show this value for DesignPartNumber but on the list it does. How can I make this possible?

Can we only make groups for Library forms?

How is the grey section hidden?

There is this form that was not created by me but by a person that no longer works at the company. When an item is first being created, the grey section, from Prod/PRP ID down to Comments, is hidden. It isn't until after the item is submitted and then edited that the grey section appears. How can I do the same?

There is a website that has a form that seems to hide the second half of the form until the first half of the form is filled. From the picture, the PRD ID textbox to the Comments textbox does not appear when the item is first created. It appears after the new item is submitted. I want to recreate this for a different purpose but the person that created this form no longer works with us so we have no one that knows how to do this. How can I recreate something like this?

How can I grab the user's name

Return Item Name Instead of Value in another field

I have a multiple selection list box that is receiving data from a repeating table with preset default values. It looks somewhat like this.

[] Item 1
[] Item 2
[] Item 3

The values assigned to the selections are setup like this.

Item 1 = 5
Item 2 = 5.00
Item 3 = 5.000

What I'm trying to accomplish is when this data gets published to the document library, in a separate field I would like the text to be returned of the items selected, but instead what I'm getting is the values returned. So I'm seeing the data like this

Separate Field: 5; 5.00; 5.000 and would I would like to see is Separate Field: Item 1; Item 2; Item 3

I'm using the following formula eval(eval(Field, 'concat(., " ", " ; ")'), "..")

I have seen this formula work in another form created by someone else, but I cannot for seem to replicate how it's setup. eval(eval(ListItem[Value = Field]/Display, 'concat(., " ", " ; ")'), "..")

The issue I seem to be having is implementing this ListItem[Value = Field]/Display. I mean it makes sense to what it's pointing to on the repeated table items but I can't seem to identify how to set that up.

Limit repeating table row count on query value return

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to InfoPath and I've created a form that tracks interactions our leadership team has with our representatives. It tracks data such as what type of interaction it is, the date of the interaction and various other data.

I've recently included a query that displays the employees interactions with our team when you enter their employee ID. I'm using a data connections "dataFields" repeating table to return the values specific to the employee ID. This works perfectly and it displays all the interactions we've had with that representative, and I was looking for a way to have that query return ONLY the 10 most recent interactions.

I found this https://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/2425/9807.aspx as a way to get the result that I wanted, however this only worked in InfoPath filler, and not on the SharePoint site where the form is located. I used Hilary's recommended method.

Any guidance is appreciated, as I have been searching for a way to make this work for quite some time now as we don't want a large list returned and only really need their most recent entries. I've attached an image of my issue.
