(these are the documents being reviewed.)
3 - Created a custom Task List no customization yet.
4 - Associated (in SharePoint > List settings > Workflow settings) the copy of Collect Feedback to the doc library where it is required.
5 - Run the WF once. This adds a new Content Type to the custom Task list in step 3.
6 - Add custom fields, to the new Content Type in step 5.(nothing fancy about the columns themselves, they are most drop downs, but a txt box as well...)
7 - Removed the Task and Associated Task Content types, from the new Task list created in step 3. (This was most like unnecessary, but it left me with a Task list with only one Content Type, the WF content type.)
8 - Open site in SPD, open library where documents are submitted and reviewed. This page will display the WFs on this library. Open the copy of "Collect Feedback" and this WFs .xsn forms are listed. Click on the .xsn used to complete the task and it opens in InfoPath 2010.

Just going to stop here and thank you for reading this far....

9 - once the xsn form opens in InfoPath, then I added the new custom Fields (added in step 6). In InfoPath, I added these fields from the basic Fields panel. They seem to add themselves properly, but this is where I run into a problem.

The fields do seem to load data correctly, initially. The drop downs have the proper values, etc, but when the fields are filled out and WF is completed, then non of these drop down columns are saved to the Task list.(although other columns do save, like comments or priority)... This is my problem.

Other added symptoms of something wrong include: DD fields, in the xsn form, do not load data if the task are being reviewed after completion. Also SPD says the from name *(needs update) and when opened I get a message that reads "One or more fields in the workflow have changed. InfoPath will now update the set of available fields. You may need to modify your form view to add or remove the updated fields"

Again thanks to anyone who has any tips/suggestions/questions. Posting this at end of my day so if I am lucky enough o have some input- I will only see it first thing tomorrow AM.

Thicks(as a brick today...)
