It would have to be copied into the main data source some how. Then, for repeating data, you'd have to promote each field as "merged". Given that, look around for "double eval" formulas - you could add some main data source fields and set those to the concatenated values for each field from your secondary data source - depending on the complexity of what you need, that may do it.

Property Promotion of a repeating table based on a secondary data connection

Hi Guys,

Our IT department is keen for us to use Sharepoint & Infopath, I'm new to both of these. To produce uniform documents (protocols) I have populated a number of sharepoint lists with data.

Using Infopath from a Combo box I can populate the form with all the data from the Sharepoint lists in the form of repeating tables.

This is great up untill the point where I want to submit the completed form to a Sharepoint library, the property promotion does not work for (Secondary) data connections as these are not available in the Property Promotion section. So the completed form in the sharepoint library is missing all the data from the repeating tables.

I'm hoping somebody out there has a bright idea.

To top it off we're not allowed to use any code because we have no test area to work with.

Many Thanks
