A public shout out for all of your work too. I've gleaned a lot of knowledge just searching this forum. You all are the best!

For the formula, you could select the row from the SharePoint list where the userID field is equal to the value of the userName() formula. If, instead, you have a form field you'd like to set with that info, you can do the same thing in a rule on form load, or on the field you are setting to the userName() function in the rules mentioned in your post above. Does that make sense?

Data source is one value, want to display another (NT user ID)

Using Infopath designer 2007, I have a form that is auto populated with userName() based on a ruleset; this predicates on the logged in user. In the form I want to display the actual name of the person. I have this data-connected to a SharePoint list on the system that contains fields "userID" and "FullName". I am able to do this - but only with a dropdown connected to the data source where value = User ID and displayed name = FullName. Can this be dne with a simple calculated field? Seems like the dropdown is a painful workaround.

Thanks!
