I've only managed to find examples/videos on either getting a meta data value (GetTermByLabel) and others on using a mapping to SaveToSharePointList... When I try to save my term value to the mapped Managed Meta Data field in my SP List, I get this error (on the QRules error control) :

The operation failed because an unexpected error occurred. (Result Code:
0x80020005)

and I'm also monitoring the ULS log and there I can sort-of see the problem (at least I'm guessing that it's the probem) :

Error loading and running event receiver Microsoft.SharePoint.Taxonomy.TaxonomyItemEventReceiver in Microsoft.SharePoint.Taxonomy, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c. Additional information is below. : Value does not fall within the expected range.

I would have thought that the value for the meta data field would be in the format of {Text}|{GUID}... but the SOAP message shows that just the GUID value of the term is being sent :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?><SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAPSDK1="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:SOAPSDK2="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:SOAPSDK3="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><SOAP-ENV:Body><UpdateListItems xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">   <listName>{11677155-E4BD-4279-92C2-D1FE5F9A86A5}</listName>   <updates>    <Batch OnError="Continue">     <Method ID="1" Cmd="New">      <Field Name="Service_x0020_Family" RichText="false">27bc4068-aa34-4f4a-bb1a-98044baabe20</Field>     </Method>    </Batch>   </updates>  </UpdateListItems></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope>

So - I'm hoping I'm just being a noob and not using the tools properly - please help!?

Thanks

Jan
