I&#39;ve seen people use secondary data sources w/ special characters in them before to add line breaks - is this a browser form? Or filler? I&#39;m not sure if the line breaks tricks work in browser.</p>

Re: Comment Field

I guess theres no way to format the Date in that comment-&quot;function-rule&quot;? cuz I dont like the &quot;YYYY-MM-ddThh:mm:ss&quot; -format

just forget about it, I got a more important question :-)

if I add more cmts. to the box, the text format isnt that good it just looks kinda messy.
Ive attached a file where u can see the username + date + text....

any suggestions? I guess i just need some simple spaces/breaks/new lines....

Re: Comment Field

awesome!!!!

I used a secondary XML data source to put another field on the form for the user to type her &quot;current&quot; comments in - the main data source field then gets populated w/ the user name, now, comments, concatenated w/ the current value of the field itself. Hope this helps!</p>

Comment Field

Hello @ll,

1st of all I have to say, as I read the threads topic &quot;Newbie Questions&quot;, I felt very good.
Cuz I am a pretty big Newbie of Infopath. :-)

Anyways...

My question is:

I want to create kind of IT-Ticket on a SharePoint List using a Infopath form.
Further I want to create a field e.g. &quot;Updates&quot; where the IT admin can add multiple lines of text and save the form again.
And if another admin wants to add sth. to the field (without removing the older one) I want a timestamp on that addition.

Is that possible?

P.s. My solution so far is, the field Updates gets a default value like &quot;concat(userName(); &quot;-&quot;;now())&quot; and I removed the tick that updates the value of the formula.
it works so far, that I can add comments to the field, but I get only ONE timestamp....and I want a timestamp on each comment. You got me?

Hopfully my explanatin is not too strange.
