Just add a data connection that receives data from access and configure it to not load on open. Add a rule to your form&#39;s username field&nbsp;that sets the query field (to the same value of the unqiue key) and queries the data connection. Add a section to your form with some red static text and add a conditional formatting rule to it so that it only shows up if the value from the secondary data connection (the query) is not blank. </p><p>&nbsp;Should be relatively simple.</p>

Check for duplicates for input data in a text field

Hi Everyone,

I have recently taken up a time critical project that requires me to use Infopath and MS Access. I have a few queries which I will post over the next coupe of days.

For the first query, I have already spent some time looking up the existing treads but could not find a relevant solution. Following are the details for my first query:

I am working on a user registration form that has a few typical fields to record user details. One of these is Email (Cannot set it as the only primary key in the database table and setting two primary keys is not helping)

I want the form to check if the value entered by the user is already in the database (Tablename: User_info, Field Name: Email). In case it is available, I need to make the form give out a prompt.

I have read else were that it is feasible with a custom code but I am having a hard time understanding them (I am just a tab familiar with VB). If custom code is the only option, I will really appreciate if someone can give me a sample code wit key parts highlighted (table name, database name, field name, etc.).

Thanks in anticipation!!
