Formotus currently runs on iPad, iPhone and Android. Today there is no InfoPath compatible app for Windows RT tablets or Windows Phone 8 (watch for one from Formotus in 2013).

Glen

www.formotus.com

Re: Alternative to Formotus

Thanks for the reply. Do you know which small tablets would run infopath filler? A laptop would be too big for my inspector to lug around. We've even thought an iPad would be too big. I know the Surface would run it, but that's a pricey option. Would an Android device run it?

Re: Alternative to Formotus

Hi ProDad,

How about just buying a copy of the InfoPath filler and installing it (and Windows) on a laptop?

Probably <$150 for it and you'll get full InfoPath functionality.

Just a thought,

P

Alternative to Formotus

Hi,

I'm using Sharepoint Foundation (therefore no form services). I'd like to enable one person in our small company to open infopath forms in our shop to enter inspection data. I don't need great mobility, but a tablet will make her job much easier. I loaded a free trial of Formotus and it works great, but I can't justify the monthly cost for one person who never leaves the building. Can someone suggest a simple alternative? She can be connected to our server to get the form templates, and I'd like to submit the forms to a Sharepoint library. (But I'd settle for just submitting them to a shared folder on the server.)

Any ideas are appreciated.
