I am brand spanking new to infopath 2010 and need some help. I am creating a form (a basic inventory check out form) for work that will be posted on my works sharepoint site. My form needs to allow users to input there contact information as well as populate dropdown list to allow user to select items available to them. I do not have a problem developing the forms layout but I need some advice on which way I should have all my data.

Currently all my data is in several excel files. I know that if I create a blank info path form I can populate my dropdown list easily if I convert my excel sheets to XML. This is one option I have. My data has to be client side ONLY, I wish I could put it on a server but can't. I guess my question is:

Is there a way to populate ddl's from access 2010, if i create a blank web form? This form will only be available if the user logs on to the sharepoint site.

I would like this option so the data can easily be updated, added, or dropped in the future. If its in XML, I know someone will screw it up. Thank you for your help and hopefully this makes sense.
