I had built the production environment over 6 months ago and thought it a good idea to go back through my pre and post installation checklists. It turns out that I had missed a step - ironically being the one that I am normally most concious of!!

The problem that I had was a double hop issue due to the current Kerberos Configuration. I had forgotten to configure one of the web server computer accounts in AD (node A in the NLB cluster) to be trusted for delegation. After a few minutes, it was working nicely.

I have marked your post as an answer as I consider it to be one. You gave my tired and frustrated brain something to think about. It was a classic example of needing to step back and reset my thinking.

Thank you again.

Re: SOAP Web Services, InfoPath 2010 and Windows 2008R2 NLB

budtsa80:

Last week I began deploying the Web Services, InfoPath Form and VS Workflow

In which browser have clicked "new document" in the form library?
Could you try to do it in Mozilla Firefox and then after setting in Library advanced Settings > Opening Documents in the Browse > Open in the browser?

Are you able to open old/existing XML Infopath data form by right-clicking on it and choosing "Edit in Browser"?

Is Infopath Form used in workflow?

What are authentication methods used on server?

SOAP Web Services, InfoPath 2010 and Windows 2008R2 NLB

Hi all,

I have just finished building a solution that consists of an InfoPath 2010 browser-based Form (which contains controls that are populated from a number of SOAP Web Services) and a Visual Studio Workflow to handle a lengthy approval process amongst other things.Our development farm consists of one WFE and one APP server. The SOAP Web services live on the APP server.

Our production farm however is built for a mixture of high availablity and performance. It consists of a Windows Server 2008R2 NLB Cluster for the WFE (2 nodes), 1 Application Server and a SQL Server 2008R2 Failover Cluster.

Last week I began deploying the Web Services, InfoPath Form and VS Workflow to the production farm but hit a major hurdle. The SOAP Web Services were successfuly deployed to the Application Server and tested directly in the browser. The Workflow deployed fine, but the trouble came from the InfoPath Form.

When I attempt to view the Form in the browser (clicking "new document" in the form library) - I am confronted with a Web Service error with a correlation id and a windows event log error 5566 for each failed web service call. The data connections have been remade, rebound to the controls and everything seems good. I get the following error when I attempt to open the form in the browser;

"An error occurred while trying to connect to a Web service. An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server. Log ID:5566"

The error in the ULS Log and the Windows Event Log is about as detailed as the message above.

I have done the following to try and correct the issue with no avail;

Created "DisableLoopbackCheck" DWORD on the Web Front End Servers followed by a reboot.

Added self pointing entries in the "Hosts" file of each of the Web Front End Servers followed by an ipconfig /flushdns

Would it have anything to do with the NLB setup?

I am at a loss at the moment, so any help would be much appreciated.
