I want to have an IP 2010 form where the user could:

Select an item from a dropdown and that would display the associated list item to allow editing

Enter a new item for ones not in the list

This is what I have done so far:

Created a secondary connection to the same list as the MAIN (Connection 1 is Main, Connection 2 is Group Secondary). They both refer to the same list.

Tied a dropdown to the secondary connection Title and ID fields. Selecting the value in the dropdown gets the ID for the selected item.

I wanted to make sure I could get the value of the selection so for testing purposes I added a text box and used the Set Fields Value action with the formula: Title[ID = current()]. This successfully set the text box to the value selected in the drop down.

So now this is where I am stuck. I would like to allow the dropdown to return the list item selected or enter a new item for ones not entered.

How do I tie the selection so it displays only the 1 item in the list?

How do I allow the user to enter new items?

Thanks,
