Ne nuntium necare, dont kill the messenger but I wouldn't use Infopath forms with a database

All DBMS usually have excellent dev environment and tools to do exactly what you need while SQL is not the best domain of Infopath forms, see there SQL Database form issues section which I whould have renamed to SQL Database Infopath form issues

Hi! I'm hoping somone can provide me with some guidance. I conduct audits and want a database to store my findings in so that I can quiery them later. I use 2 forms that I fill in by hand and I want to my team to be able to enter the forms in and it feed into the a database. I thought I would start with access but someone mentioned that maybe I should create my 2 forms in InfoPath. Would someone mind taking a look at my examples of my 2 forms below and give me some guidance as to where I should start? The secondary purpose of this database is to track my metrics based on these questions. The first form is where we record findings: Free Text Field Requirements examples: Auditor Name Project # Department Date Range Audited OR Information request fields: Date: Name of Person that Information was requested from: Type of Information Requested Some Questions on the form have a drop down menu: Audit Type: Risk Based For Cause or Project Status: Open Closed On Hold There is also the field work section that has yes, no, NA check boxes and free text text to each Is the sky blue? Check box of Yes, No, NA Free text for findings (this free text box is on each question) The second form is based on employee interviews: Some of the questions I can do via a drop down menu. Example: What is your role on this project? Choices are: Manager Finance Data Others require free text responses. Examples of Free Text: Audit # Department Interviewee Name Interviewee Title Then there are some that we have as a drop down menu as first choice then free text : Example Does your department keep copies of XXXX? Choices Yes No Unable to Answer Question Sub Questions Free text required If yes, where are they located? If Unable to Answer Question, Explain (this one would only populate if the "Unable to answer question" box is checked. Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated! :)
