I can try the access linked form my only issue is that I am trying to build essentially an interview questionnaire, so obviously there are interview questions followed by a section to rate their competency in the field and then a justification box below and then when submitted create the named file saved in a location for reference as well as populate an access database that can be used for metrics. So if that makes sense, the direction I am moving in is to create a custom "save" button at the bottom of the form that will create the name and save it in the desired location. As it stands now I can get it to do all of that up to the actual save part where it tells me:

First, design your Access table. Then launch the InfoPath designer and go to File > New > Advanced Form Templates > Database. This will launch a wizard that will allow you to create an InfoPath form that is linked to the Access table you have already pre-created.

Want to give that a shot and see if it will satisfy your requirements?

Infopath 2010 submit to a network folder

Hello All!

I have been creeping around every infopath forums I can find for the past few weeks trying to figure out this dilemma I am faced with. I am thinking I need to start with infopath at least I'll just get to it.

I have written a form that is used for technical interviews, option buttons, justification boxes, drop down sections the whole 9 yards (I got thrown this project last Thursday and had never even heard of infopath before so I am kind of excited I have figured this much out through trial and error) Anyway the end goal here is to populate an access database with the information from these forms, ie one for each candidate that is interviewed. I have a naming convention set up already so when the form is submitted it turns into "feedback form - (name)" so individual .xml's are created for each submission. My problem is where they submit to, as it is now I have them submit to a Sharepoint library, but I have no real experience with setting up access data bases either so when I go to import the library from sharepoint all I get is links to the files that then open back up in infopath. Now If I import the .xml into access through the import .xml feature and point it to a file on my share drive it populates all my tables with my fields, every thing is great.

So if you've stuck with me through all of that, the best solution in my head is to have the infopath forms submit directly into a shared network folder where my database can pull the files in from.... So is there a way to do this? I tried creating my own button that would save the file to path I want using the built in VB tool, but that was way over my head I barely know python.

So again, I do apologize for the lack of a tangible here, but I am really just headbutting my keyboard now hoping something works :)
