I am unable to use the columns from my second v2 content type in a calculated columnL

now I can't create a calculated column with a formula like this:

=IF([Content Type]="Form",[IP Complete],[IP Complete])

Works and displays for the old content type, but nothing is diplaying for the v2 content type.

I can select the field column to display on its own and the data display fine. what's going on? are these new columns in my new content type not site columns? just updated to the list?

when trying to post directly from infopath to that form library.

I was able to get it to work, but only after publishing to the root site of my site collection.

2 Questions - can I use content type in calculated columns? Can I check for content type in the sharepoint designer workflow?

Hi sullisync - when does it show this error? Does it show when opening a new form using the new template? Did you republish the old form as content type as well?

tried adding an additional content type and received this error:

getting the site content type columns failed.

I was able to find an old copy of the form and republished it. at least now I can open the existing forms.

but I'm still wondering what that design error is all about??

can I specify which forms I want to relink to?

must I allow management of content types first?

I have to say that I didn't try relinking the forms because I did a 'quick publish' from infopath without realizing the deisgn checker was throwing me an error.

And now that I see your post. I think I should relink it to the old template (v1) if I can find a copy, shouldn't i?

that helps me once I fix my problem... I think. so IF I have a copy of the older form I should rename it as v1 - ok. and then I need to relink the documents in that library? cause right now nothing opens :(

Hi sullisnyc,

By publishing as content types, you can have your existing forms open using the old template and new forms in the new version of your template.

MOSS 2007/WSS3/infopath 2010

updated an existing infopath form and am getting this error in the design checker:

could not verify the form template on the specified server

so I tried to quick publish from infopath and now my form library is messed up for existing forms. :(

found this but I'm pretty sure all my fields, sections etc are all bound properly.
