I've checked the blog, but i am not sure it can solve my problem. In the situation described in the blog the external user is the one using the template to create the initial form, which is not the case for me.

I have the following situation:

multiple users from company A need to have access to a template (on a sharepoint) to create forms that are emailed to external users (company B)

external user opens the form, modifies a field and sends it back

I do not need two different versions of the template; i could even give to the external user the internal template to store on computer.

The problem is that the initiatior of the process is my internal user, and when the form file arrives at the external user it should be somehow linked to the template. He has the template attached to the email, but infopath does not see it, don't know why :(

thanks

I’ve designed a template and published it on my company’s internal sharepoint

My colleagues are opening new forms directly from the sharepoint

The template contains an email submit data connection to send the form to an external email address

The data connection is set up so that the template is also attached to the email (to ensure users can open the form)

The email is received by our client (the external address), he can preview the form in Outlook but when they try to open the form their computer is trying to connect to our sharepoint (to which they don’t have access, of course) instead of looking for the template in the email.

While looking online for this problem I found out that it might have something to do with the href attribute.
I have tested the same email connection but from a template saved on my computer (not published) and it worked; the client received the form and template and could open the file. So it really looks like something happens when the template is published. Can you please help me with a solution? I need to have the client able to open the form and the template must be shared between my colleagues. Many thanksAurelia
