Each form has a link to the template it was created from and the error above says that the user has no access to the original template location. In that case, you might need to publish the form template to a network location or website where users can access. Then, when you test-submit, use the published form, and not the form template saved.

"The form template associated with this form cannot be found."

I'm working on a conference room request form that will work entirely independent of SharePoint (i.e., through email submit). Users company-wide should be able to fill out the form, and when they submit it, it will be automatically emailed to the appropriate facilities team member.

What's the correct workflow for this? Currently, when I preview the form and test-send it to one of our staff members, they cannot open the file and receive the following error: "The form template associated with this form cannot be found. It is not on your computer and the form does not specify a location from which to retrieve it."

But I've checked the boxes to 'attach the form template to ensure that users can open the form' in my submit options. I've also checked 'Always send the current view and the following attachments (Form data and the form template)' in the 'Form Options' section.

I think this might be happening because I've set the security level as 'Restricted,' since I want the form to operate completely independent of SharePoint. As it says in the Data Connection wizard, "If you restrict permission to a form... the e-mail message will not include the underlying form template."

My head's running in circles! Any help for a newbie trying to sort this out?
