But you can check with your SharePoint Administrator if your site is correctly configured to run InfoPath Forms Services. It should be enabled to render browser-enabled form templates. If that option is disabled, users cannot use a web browser to fill out the browser-enabled form and must use InfoPath Filler to open the form.

Re: Browser-enabled InfoPath 2010 always wants to use Filler

Yes I did, and then published the form.

Re: Browser-enabled InfoPath 2010 always wants to use Filler

In Form Options > Compatibility, did you enter the address to your SharePoint server?
I've created an InfoPath 2010 form that allows the user to enter or select from a drop down lists a number that represents a Task ID. If data associated with the ID form one list matches data found in anothe rlist, information is returned. This is what it does and it works.

Publishng the form:

I went to Form Options > Compatibility > Form Type and selected Web Brownser Form

After I published to the Forms Library I went to Library Settings > Advanced > Opening Documents in the Browser and select Open in the Browser radio button.

When I access the site from a system that doesn't have InfoPath 2007 or 2010 and select the form I get "The form cannot be opened in a Web browser. To open the form, use Microsoft InfoPath.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Re: Browser-enabled InfoPath 2010 always wants to use Filler

Hi George,

I don't understand why the columns are removed. I suggest to check if there are any errors shown in the Design Checker, go to File > Info > Design Checker. See if there's any data connection errors shown after saving the form to InfoPath 2007 version.

Re: Browser-enabled InfoPath 2010 always wants to use Filler

Hi Jo-Anne,

One thing that occurs when I try to convert to InfoPath 2007 Web Browser form is that one of the columns in one of the two data connections gets removed.

In your form library, did you change the settings to open the form template in the browser instead of client? Also, since those staff accessing this form are running Office 2007, why don't you try saving your form as InfoPath 2007 Web Browser Form Template or InfoPath 2007 Filler Form template and then re-publish it to your site?

Browser-enabled InfoPath 2010 always wants to use Filler

I'm new. I've created a form in InfoPath 2010 that needs to be accessed by staff who don't have Office 2010. Currently they have Office 2007. I've published the form to a Forms Library and made sure that it was browser-enabled. When I try to access from my Office 2007 environment I get the error:

InfoPath can't create a new blank file. The error details are as follows:

Form template: http://www.vsec1one.com/sites/poamtest/POAM%20Remediation/Forms/template.xsn
The form template was created with a newer version of InfoPath.
This form template was created by InfoPath version 14.0.0.

So I guess my qustion is, why is it still wanting to create an InfoPath form and how do I truely make this Browser-enabled and accessible without Infopath period?

Thanks in advance
