You should be able to refresh from the database. We have a common library called qRules that supports copying data from a repeating table but I'm not sure that's the solution for you. A recursive eval can be used to concat data but there's no xpath set value command to iterate on, so as far as I know it's not possible (and that's why we added it to qRules).

Please reply back with more details and we'll dig in...

Possible to use eval to copy data from a repeating section?

I have a repeating table that pulls data from a secondary connection (MSSQL database). The users need to be able to view the data as it is currently there and make any changes before submitting it back. Problem is that if the form is submitted, it resets the repeating table back to the database data and not the user changed info. This is due to having to load the data when the form is opened or I find the repeating section does not populate at all. I an not a coder. At all. So unless someone has code that I can use, I would like to know if it is possible to use eval to somehow mirror the repeating table data to another view and have it retain the info regardless of if the original repeating section reloads or not. The structure looks like this:

Controls (repeating group representing a table in the secondary data conn to the SQL server)

 RiskRef

 ControlRef

 ControlName (multi-line text)

 ControlDesc (multi-line text)

 ControlOwner

 FCI

 Adeq

 Eff

 Rationale (multi-line text)

There can be anything from 1 to 10 controls. Would eval work or is there a better way? Help would be much appreciated.
