We also use a Web Service to submit the form to SQL so that it works in the browser. The web Service handles the correspondence with the keys so we don't need to query SQL to get the keyfield. This is a pretty common scenario.

Good luck!

Infopath, Sharepoint, and Access Trifecta

I have very little experience in these programs, but these are the tools I was given to use. What I am using is Office 2010 Professional Plus.

I would like to give you all a brief summary of what I am trying to accomplish. I am trying to create a system where an End User can fill out a web-based Infopath form on Sharepoint, a copy of which is then emailed to my department and to the End User when it is submitted. The raw data from the form is then put automatically into columns in Sharepoint via the submission and updates an Access database with the same information. Sharepoint would then pull the keyfield from Access and place that into Sharepoint's column view. I'm trying to automate this as much as possible.

While this makes sense to me, I want to know: is all of this possible? Is this a bad plan before I invest too heavily into it? If so, is there a better way to go about this?
