I often work both with IE as well as with Firefox and I´ve have never noticed such behaviour as you describe.

Maybe it it possible for you to upload a sample attachment where I can see the problems as at the moment it is very complicated for me to reproduce this behaviour in my test environment.

Regards,

Re: InfoPath 2010 Conditional Formatting Issue

Karston,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I want to hide and your instructions are correct, however, I was already set with doing that. The problem I am running into is that when I go to fill out the form (Using Internet Explorer), selecting yes will show the conditional section, but then breaks ALL conditional formatting within the form. As in, nothing will work any longer. It works as expected in Firefox, so I am unfortunately thinking it is a bug in Internet Explorer and not an issue with my form.

-Steve

Re: InfoPath 2010 Conditional Formatting Issue

Hello Steve,

... and welcome to our forum.

If I understand you right you would like that the section appears by default and only disappears if the user clicks on “no” and you don’t want the section to appear at all unless “yes” is checked. Is that right?

The I would suggest the following:

Make sure that both the yes and no radio button use the same field name.

As field type, select “True/False (boolean)”.

Set the “Value when selected” field to True for yes and False for no.

Important: make sure non of the two radio buttons has the checkbox “This button is selected by default” selected!

Then double-click on your section and in the Section Properties in the Display tab, click “Conditional Formatting” and add a condition with the following settings:

first dropdown: select your radio buttons field name

second dropdown: select “is not equal to”

third dropdown: select “TRUE”

Then check the checkbox “Hide this control”.

Hope that helps,

Regards,

InfoPath 2010 Conditional Formatting Issue

Hi,

I'm new to InfoPath, but have figured out how to make a form and add conditional formatting to it. However, I have run into an issue:

I have conditionally formatted a Section to show/hide based on whether another radio button set is either True or False.

Using the form, all other conditional formatting works without issue. When I select Yes (True) on the radio button, it shows the section fine. However, at this point, the entire form conditional formatting breaks and no longer works. Not only does the section not hide when setting the radio button back to No (False), but all formatting on the page is now no longer working.

Is this an issue with my setup or am I having another unrelated problem? Anyone able to assist?

More information: I am using IE 8, but if I try bringing the form up in FireFox, it works without issue. I guess it's probably an IE issue, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Steve
