We have created an "encryption" function in qRules and we use it for data that we need to store confidentially. Of course, it requires that you remember passwords. If you forget... guess what? Poof. No more data. :) But, I guess that's the point. Anyway, that will make the data in your forms totally protected. To make the views only show the per user data, just configure your SharePoint view to use the [me] filter. We can help you configure it if you want. Send me email.

Cheers!

Using document libraries as protected storage?

I'm brand-new to Infopath/Sharepoint 2010 (as in I've been using them since Monday), and while I pick up new tech very easily, I've been asked to look into some things that aren't quite so simple from my newbie perspective.I have been and will continue to search through the boards for ideas but it seems to me to be an odd enough request I don't see anything obvious for answers...

One thing, in particular, I'm hoping someone can help me with - we have a number of users who need to get at confidential data stored online, in a relatively easy manner. My boss originally wanted to use a secure FTP server with everyone's individual login going only to their information. However that was ruled out as an option by our IT staff, so now we want to see if it can be done using Sharepoint. I.e. creating a single document library and password-protecting it so if User A logs in, they only see User A's files, User B only sees User B's files, etc? Is this possible or are we getting our hopes up for nothing? Or is there something similar I could set up?

I hope this makes sense, I'm only one cup of coffee into the morning.
