I'm very new to InfoPath - in fact, I'm the first person in my org to work with it, so I'm very grateful for any external guidance.

I have a form with a control which contains a date. I need to hide this control unless another indicated by another control.

I have figured out that hiding via conditional formatting works on many control types, but not on dates.

I have figured out via web research that the way to do this is to place the date control within a section, then conditionally hide the section. Sounds like a great idea.

However, the field is within a repeating table, which seems to indicate that I need to bind the section to data. Fine - I can do that. However, when I pick the field, or even the group of fields (specifically, my:SharePointListItem_RW) , I get the error "A repeating section must be bound to a field or group that repeats."

I get a little further if I pull the date out of the repeating table section. I can create a new section that is automatically bounded to the same sharepoint list. Piece of cake. But when I select the section the ability add a rule is disabled.

What am I doing something wrong? Using the whole wrong approach? Or does this simply not work in a repeating table?

Thanks so much for any guidance!
