You can configure the page so that selecting an item shows the details in a form below (all in the browser).

Should be pretty easy to do your scenario which is not complicated. Very simple scenario. Start with the data source. What fields do you need. Make sure you get the structure right before you go further. You could have one form for all items (agenda items, hot topics) but you probably want separate forms for each since their data may differ.

I am pretty new to Infopath/Sharepoint. My company is looking to develop a corporate sharepoint integrated with Infopath. Here is what we are trying to accomplish:

Executives should be able to log in to the sharepoint and have a simple single page form to submit multiple action items, agenda items and hot topics (for different dates) to be stored and queried at a later time. Execs will return to the sharepoint, update items as they see fit, tag them to be acted on by specific employees, and leave it at that.

From what I half-understand (it was pretty early when they sprung this info on me), there are limitations in Infopath/Sharepoint 2007 that will make saving data from a single form difficult.

I hope I just made sense. I'm going out to purchase a book on the subject but I wanted to see if someone could explain the problems that I may run into before I go seeking out the right book.

Thank you.
