No, this happens when any item in the list is selected.

Each of the 5 auto-fill fields are set up the same in terms of the properties from their corresponding parent drop down list and they do work...the first time a selection is made. It's only when they are changed that these two fields don't change (they become empty). The two fields (in bold below) that become blank are both the next field in line after their parent drop down box. The letter in parenthesis is the value from the database column they hold. drpDown1(a) and drpDown2(a) will hold a different name from the same [list a] at the same time.

1st group of fields: drpDown1(a): txtBox1(b), txtBox2(c), txtBox3(d), txtBox4(e)

2nd group of fields: drpDown2(a): txtBox2(b)

Data Connection columns: (a)EmpName, (b)EmpTitle, (c)EmpDept, (d)EmpSupervisorName, (e)EmpSupervisorTitle

by any chance is it the first item in the dropdown that you are selecting first?

if so, you probably just need to set the auto-fill to use the correct xpath function to pull the correct values over. i.e. preceding-sibling or current

Using InfoPath 2007 with one data connection.

I have a drop down field that auto fills 4 other fields. This works great when the field is first selected.

If I change the drop down field only 3 out of 4 auto fill fields reflect the change. I haven't published my form yet. I am still in design mode using preview to test it.

Incidentally, I have another drop down field that auto fills 1 other text field that exhibits the same odd behavior. Both drop down fields read from the same data connection. One observation: both drop down fields read from the same list and refer to the same data from the same data connection. These are set up as 4 control separate controls; drpDown1 auto fills txtBox1, drpDown2 auto fills txtBox2. Each drop down field allows a user to select a different name from the same list.

My question is how do I get infopath to reflect the new selection (the change) in the auto filled field? This works fine for the other 3 fields except his one.
