Sorry - I kind of combined two messages into one.

I removed all the dashes, colons and the 'T' - - so I thought - hey - why not make it a number, since all the characters were numeric.

but it didn't work.....

I'm not sure how now() would be a number? now() is going to be date and time, with hyphens, colons and a "T" in the middle.... Don't you want a datetime data type?

I tried this and actually got it working, however, the only way this number shows up, is if the datatype is set to text.

If I set it to a whole number, with no formatting (commas), then it doesn't show up in the Library field. Is this normal? (i thought it would sort better if it was numeric)

Using 2010

I'd like it so that one textbox is populated with the now() function the first time it loads - - but once it's saved and/or submitted to the library, it keeps that date/time.

So beyone setting a rule so that if it's blank, set the field value to now(), is there anything else or any other way this should be done?
