Thanks for the reply, My challenge is the flow of the form and data.

Example. Users submits form which goes to a Pending Document Library (On back end VP is emailed saying a form is there)

2. VP opens Form which now opens second view using rules (If initial feild is not blank show VP View) . Once VP enters information (Assign this to this person, comments and follow up by date) I cant get that to VP entry to populate the sharepoint list cause when I published the form in the 1st forms library. Since the second submit button only gives me data connection and not feilds to populate.

Follow'n me? Sorry newbie here.

Re: Passing data from a infopath form to SPLibrary

That technique works fine. You can also have sections hide/show in the main view or use buttons to query on demand to improve user perception (if load is slow). Best practice is to filter data but InfoPath doesn't provide server-side filtering out-of-the-box. You can use a Web Service or SharePoint + qRules to do filtering of data you are pulling. That will reduce load times significantly since you can only pull-down the relevant info.

Passing data from a infopath form to SPLibrary

Hello,

I am using infopath and views to try and do some workflow for our VP. Basicily a quality and saftey suggestion for for all users. But onece the user submits, it goes to a different DL (Pending Suggestions) where the VP is notified. He then wants to do somthing with the form, give a name and emaill address (preferably pull from AD and assign a completion date. My issue is since the original form was published in the first DL and submited to a second DL, I can get the submit to drop data in the new list so that we can do sharepoint workflows.

Can someone tell me the best way to use infopath to collect data after certian actions. So far I have tree views and Im using rules in form to change view "if not blank"

Thanks!
