I meant for it to represent as 5 October 2010.

I just found this article that appears to do what I need - if this is the best solution?

I know the today() and now() functions write out the date/time fields in this format - YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss

I've used the substring function of those to just give me the YYYY-MM-DD but I'd like this to be saved in long format in the variable, in the same way the display can be changed to DD Month Year - is this possible at all?

Thanks,
