Thanks for your post. I know this can be achieved by conditional formatting. But that is not exactly what I need. If I follow the suggestion which u gave, it immediately displays the section as soon as I select "completed in the drop down list.

My requirement is:

1. By default the section should be invisible.

2. When I select "Complete" in the drop down, that section should not be visible to me. ( I selected "Completed" option and clicked on update button. Now an email alert will be sent to all user that the work is completed).

3. Now the user comes to know that the work request has been completed. He opens the form now. Now the section should be visible to him.

Feel free to reach out me (jawaharjj@live.com) incase you are not clear with my requirements.

You can use conditional formating to hide the section.

Open the section's properties, go to Display tab > Conditional Formatting. You should be able to add a condition and hide the control.

Thanks,

Help in InfoPath form submission to Sharepoint

Hi everyone,

I am using InfoPath 2003. I have designed a form in such a way that, submission is to a shaerpoint library. I have to fuifile one requirement.

1. I have one drop down which is having the values 'new', 'assigned', 'in progress', 'completed'.

2. I have one section containing some text boxes.

3. Assume that I have two buttons ( submit , update). The flow is if an user select 'completed' option in the dropdown and clicks on 'update' button, it will update the whole sharepoint lib wherever the form presence is there.

Now my requirement is, once the first user (user A) selects 'completed' option in the drop down and clicks on 'update' button. Now the section should not be displayed.
After sometime the second user (user B) opens the form. But this time the section should be displayed.

How can I achieve this functionality?
