You can't imagine how stupid I feel right now. Yes, it does make sense! The person receiving the email would naturally have to reply and then fill out the form. While I was testing I tried to fill out the form, before I hit reply. Somehow I missed that... Anyway, I really appreciate you 'talking' me through it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

1. Published text1.xsn template to a list of email recipents without filling any data (I did get data validation errors when I click 'send' button, but the form was sent successfully)
2. Open that mail from Outlook.
3. Click on the 'Reply' button, and fill both the fields (FirstName, and Favorite Color fields), and click 'Send' button).

Makes sense?

Re: Problem publishing InfoPath 2007 template to email

Hi Aruna,

I think I may be misunderstanding the process. I want to send the form to a customer, have them fill it out, and return it to me. When I do the email publish I get what you see in the attached pic. When I click 'send' I get the error message. One thing I noticed in your pic is that there is not a submit button, but there is on mine. Do you think that is part of my problem?

If I send anyway, the form arrives at it's destination 'unfillable'. There is an open form button if the person has infopath, but I want them to fill it out in the body of the email.

Thanks, Mark

Re: Problem publishing InfoPath 2007 template to email

Hi Mark,

I just tried your template, and after email publish - I was able to see those two fields in edit mode in the body section of my email. Attached the screenshot.

BTW, I tried with IP 2007, and Outlook 2007

Re: Problem publishing InfoPath 2007 template to email

Hi Aruna,

I've attached my template. I don't know much about the 'active view' but I better read up on it. At least I know that it is suppose to work. If you find out anything by looking at the template, let me know!

Thank you very much!

Mark

Re: Problem publishing InfoPath 2007 template to email

I just tried the same scenario you mentioned (created 2 fields which cannot be blank), and email publish works fine - I was able to see the fields in the body section.

Did you verify the view settings of your active view? Can you attach your template?

Problem publishing InfoPath 2007 template to email

Hi,

I just started using InfoPath 2007 a couple of weeks ago but have been unsuccessful publishing a template to a list of email users, so that they can fill out the form. Everyone in the office has Outlook 2007.

If I try “Publish->To a list of e-mail recipients” it brings up an e-mail type view (To, Cc, Subject:, Introduction) that has a 'Send' button, but also a 'Submit' button. In the body of the e-mail is my form (which contains two required fields with red asterisks), but when I try to send it I get an error message: "The form contains validation errors. Errors are marked with either a red asterisk (required fields) or a red, dashed border (invalid values). Do you still want to send it?" So it's like I'm suppose to fill out the form!?

If I send it anyway, the recipient receives an email with a read only copy of the blank form, in the body of the email (that cannot be filled out), and an 'open form' button, which they open the form in InfoPath 2007 and fill out the form. What I would like to happen is have the fill-out able form appear in the body of their message, so they can fill the form out in the email. I obviously am missing a key component somewhere in how I'm doing this. I appreciate the help!

Thanks,

Mark
