... I can´t imagine that it is -easily- possible to create a macro because you have to access the clipboard --- and this is the problem. I don't think there is a 'native' function in VBScript to access clipboard...but I don´t know exactly...in JScript there are functions to access the clipboard. And the next question is where do you want to place this macro --- in the form or in the email programm?

Regarding the meeting request you have to look for the terms 'icalendar' which is based on the RFC 2445 standard. There are a few websites explaining the methods and properties in detail for using them in managed code like c# or vb.net. I don´t know if there are options using the 'icalendar' format in vbscript or jscript.

one question

"The user will open the form that will copy the entire email/client information either into a user field or attach it to the form in some way.

This is not automatically possible --- you have to save the email as a file in a folder and then you can attach this file in an attachment control of the form. Infopath can´t access your mail directly so you have to handle your email manually..."

Could a macro be created to simply cut and paste the information into the form?

Re: Can this be done with Infopath

Hi,

... OK --- I will try to give the answer as short as possible:

I am trying to create a form that does the following:

Before the form is used the user will recieve an email with client information that is in a rich text format.

Sure, the user can receive an email with information in rich text format

The user will open the form that will copy the entire email/client information either into a user field or attach it to the form in some way.

This is not automatically possible --- you have to save the email as a file in a folder and then you can attach this file in an attachment control of the form. Infopath can´t access your mail directly so you have to handle your email manually...

The user will enter data into a variety of fields.

This is the basic functionality from infopath forms.

The user will need to schedule a meeting request with a specific persons shared outlook calendar.

Yes --- that is possible. You can realize this with a lot of managed code. I have done this in one of my projects but it isn´t really simple...

The user then will submit the form.

Yes, that is possible whereever you want to submit the form (SharePoint library, EMail, Fileshare,...)

Once the form is submited the following needs to occur:

Data entered in a field needs to be added to an access or sql database.

Yes, that is possible. You can realize this with managed code or even with actions/rules in the form.

The Meeting request is sent with specific field data included.

As I already said: yes, it is possible but it is not an easy way.

Data entered into specific fields needs to fill in a form email that will send a confirmation to the client.

Sure, you can send an email with specific data as HTML-Mail.

Hope, that helps...

Regards,

Re: Can this be done with Infopath

The only real answer I need is can this be done, anybody?

Can this be done with Infopath

I am new to infopath 2007 but not office 2007 overall. I understand VB code and can modify exsisting code but not proficient at generating new code. I know how to create forms but unsure how to implement certian features and integrations. I am trying to plan out and implement the following project. I am not looking for someone to program or develop it for me but any help would be appreciated. Mostly I want to know if this is possible.

I have created the data entry portion of the form in infopath and the form will add the field information to an access db.

I am not sure how to intergrate the rest into outlook(if it is even possible). The form it self does not have to execute inside outlook but it would help.

My office is using exchange 2007 and has access to the entire office 2007 suite if that makes a difference for development purposes.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
