I figured out what I had done wrong. I actually did exactly what you said to do, however my dyslexia got the better of me, I told it to pull from field 79 instead of 97 like it should have.

It is working beautify, and my boss loves it.

Thank you!

Re: pulling informtion form one field to populate the email TO block

Hi Steve

What you need to do is to configure the email submit to pull the user's email address into the TO line in the Submit Adapter for the e-mail. I attached a screenshot (from 2007 but should work for 2003). Is this what you need to understand how to do?

I have very little experience with InfoPath I am using 2003 - however I am trying to create an automated form for our users to request account creations.

What I am trying to accomplish is this: I have a Text field that is mandatory before the user can submit. I want them to put their email address in there. After the form gets submitted it comes to my office for verification, after that it go's to the helpdesk guys to create the accounts.

the last step in the process will be the helpdesk guy hitting the final submit button and an email being sent to the user that submitted the form (the one that inputted his email.) I need to know what formula to put into the wizard in the TO block to get it to pull from the email field that the user populated, and send the email to that address.

I know its possible, and chances are, it is right under my nose. Do you guys know how to get this working? Thanks!
