I am having the same issue as Seralim, I would like to have the multi-line text box without the scroll. I tried the steps inyour approach and for some reason it still shows the vertical scroll bar in the browser form. Is there anything that I may have missed or setting I need to change.

Re: Multiline Text

Selarim,

The answers the others provided are right, but not complete. There is another way to accomplish your goal. You can use a repeating table. Here's how:

Insert the repeating table with only 1 row.

Right-click on the Repeating Table tab, and select Repeating Table Properties

De-select Allow users to insert and delete rows (hides the tab from your users)

Click the Display tab, and de-select the Include header and Include footer checkboxes

Click OK to close the dialog box.

Double-click the text box within the repeating table's row to open the properties dialog box

Ensure that text string is selected as the Data Type on the Data tab.

Select Spell-checking, Auto-complete, and Multi-line on the Display tab.

Click OK to close the diaglog box.

You now have an expanding text box that doesn't have any arrows or formatting menu. However, it is strictly a text only field (no auto-numbering, bold, underline, etc.).

Regards,

Steve

Re: Multiline Text

Expand to fit text is only on a rich text control.

Re: Multiline Text

GazM:

If you check the display properties of the textbox you will find that you can set paragraph breaks (multiline), wrap text and 'expand to fit text' plus many other useful features.

A multi-line plain text box will not auto-expand and will show scroll arrows, but it won't show the toolbar. In this case, you can just manually expand the box to the size you think is reasonable, and then it won't show scrollbars unless the text exceeds the size of the box.

Multiline Text

Hi all

I'm new in infopath and I have the following problem: I need a field to put multiline text...I tried to use the "textbox", but when I set it to "multiline", I can't see all the text I've put on it..If I write two lines of text on it, the first one "gets hide", and if I want to see it, I have to click in the up arrow that appears in the textbox...This is not what I want, then I tried to use the richtext...It works fine, but the problem is that "toolbox" that appears (to format the text)...I don't want that to appear too...

I'm using browser forms...

I think this image helps...

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks..
