There is no built-in filtering for a rule to specify a particular repeating node to update, rather they are all updated. This is unfortunate behavior in my opinion.

Some users have reportedly modified the manifest.xsf file to manually add in a filter to the rule xpath. The other option is to use Qdabra qRules (it's either 1.8 or 2.0 that gives the ability to get around this--not sure which) or write your own code.

Update Secondary data Source Field

Hi,

I configured this xml file as secondary data connection to update a SharePoint list, as explained by Matt Faus here (Add SharePoint List Items with InfoPath).

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Batch OnError="Continue">
    <Method ID="1" Cmd="New">
        <Field Name="ID"></Field>
        <Field Name="Customer"></Field>
    </Method>
</Batch>

The form received a repeating table with columns "Name" and "Field".

When I open the form to fill out, the column "Name" receives the values ID and Customer. The column "Field" receives the values that I type.
Is there a way to use rules or code to set one of the Field values to receive text from a Text box?

Thanks,

Bruno
