You'll have to add some triggers to recompute the columns in the separated repeating tables and you'll probably want to use a node to store values in as you recompute it. Since the recompute is iterative, this will be hard to do without writing code. Not impossible though. Good luck.

Table Numbering Column Across two tables

I have found a way to number columns in a repeating table within a repeating section in the following format, 1, 1.2, 1.3, etc, and then in the subsequent section 2, 2.2, 2.3. Problem is the form i am designing requires the table to be split into two parts, with text in between. I have added a second repeating table but cannot get the numbering to continue from the previous table. Is this possible. I am currently using an expression box with the following XPath expression to determine the numbering... ../my:RoomCounterItem + (count(preceding-sibling::my:RoomObservationCollection) div 10) with roomCounterItem incrementing on each item added to the repeating section using a counter rule. the first column always shows as 1 as opposed to 1.1. Is there a better way to have the columns numbered in this way and is it possible to have this numbering continue in a second repeating table.
