This bit of code here gave me what I needed... Hope it helps someone else also.. BTW I am using InfoPath 2007:

        public void btnSubmit_Clicked(object sender, ClickedEventArgs e)
        {

                MailEnvelope oEnvelope = Application.ActiveWindow.MailEnvelope;

                oEnvelope.Subject = "Request from the field";
                oEnvelope.Introduction = "Enter the recipient(s) to receive your request";
                oEnvelope.Visible = true;
        }

I had thought about using a text box to allow the user to specify the To: address. The problem there is that you don't get Outlook's auto-complete / validation capabilities. As someone enters an address in Outlook, the application will provide recipient suggestions as you type; and if you enter an incorrect address it will pop up the "Check Names" dialog to let you know that it doesn't recognize your entry.

When using a standard text box, I assume you don't get these features and if an address is entered incorrectly, there would be no validation. For this reason, I would like to press the submit button, and have it do exactly what the File..Send to Mail Recipient option does.. This seems to me to be something very simple to do, but I can find nothing definitive as to how to make it happen, other than sending keystrokes which is not something I would prefer to do (assuming it's even possible in Infopath anyway), but will if I have to.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Re: Getting the send to email recipient info to appear on top automatically.

Hi --

Have you thought about using an email submit connection for your form? You could add fields for To, Cc and Bcc to your form and provide the user with a button that submits using the email submit connection. Your email submit connection could use those fields for the To, Cc, and Bcc... :)

Getting the send to email recipient info to appear on top automatically.

Hello everyone, I hope this question hadn't been asked before. I did some searching through the forums and did not see this particular one.

When a person opens an infopath form they have to go into file -> send to email recipient in order to get the TO: CC: BCC: etc etc fields to show up. I know this is probably a very simple question, but; is there a way to make that automatically pop up when the form is opened? I've been looking for an answer to this for quite awhile now and haven't seen anything for it.

Any help, even a "this cannot be done", would be very much appreciated!!

Thank you in advance.
