InfoPath - Get user information without writing code (extended)

Also, as a hint, another method that may be more straightforward is to use GetCommonManager, because that accepts the same value as GetUserProfileByName, but automatically returns a subset of Manager info without having to re-query the GetUserProfileByName web serivce. You can set it to automatically retrieve data upon form load and then auto-populate your Manager fields just like your current user fields.

Re: Pulling info for Manager

In case anybody else runs across my problem here is what I did to make it work.

Created another GetUserProfileByName Data Connection. Made the name GetUserProfileByName-Manager

Created a field and called it Manager-Query

Inside of Manager-Query I have a rule:

Set field value Account Name = .

Account Name is from the new GetUserProfileByName-Manager

Query using new data connection: GetUserProfileByName-Manager

Once this is in place the next part of that rule sets my fields of ManagerName and ManagerEmail equal to PerferredName and WorkEmail the same way you set the value for the original EmployeeName

So i have two text boxes ManagerEmail and MangerName which have no value, the rule above gives it value.

Problem solved, hopefully this will help someone on Google.
