However, I once again find myself stuck. I understand how you manipulated the XPATHS and filters to show the data, but this is what I actually have to have done:

I have a repeating table nested within repeating section. In the repeating table you enter the same data as above (The Number, and Types). I want users to be able to create several different repeating tables, and all that similar information to go to one other table outside of the repeating section.

I almost did this myself, but the table that is supposed to filter and add the numbers did two things wrong:

1. It did not filter according to each repeating section (ie. if you entered A and 1 in the table in the first section, and A and 2 in the table in the second section, the outside table that is supposed to filter everything still displayed two different A's one with 1 and one with 2) I just need help writing the expression that would filter this correctly.

2. It did not add values from other tables in other sections. (ie. if you entered A and 1 in the table in the first section, and A
and 2 in the table in the second section, the outside table that is
supposed to filter everything still displayed two different A's one
with 1 and one with 2(Once Again) So it did not add the values of the A's to be 3) I need help writing the Xpath expression for the value of the Expression Box.

Thank you very much for your help.

And also, could any uploaded infopath form please be saved as an infopath 2003 document, that would save a lot of time.

Re: Infopath 2003 help with repeating tables

Please do not post the same question in multiple forums.

Please see the attached template. The things to note are the filter on the second repeating table and the expression in the expression box in the "Sum of Field2" column.

Re: Infopath 2003 help with repeating tables

The number is simply the totals of all the types. I have a good grasp of Infopath concepts but I can not figure out this problem. This is what I want to happen:

I
am designing a form for employees to fill out for a Basis of Estimate.
Employees will be entering some data into a repeating table, and I want
that data to replicate throughout the form. I know how to make another
repeating table to bind to the other, that is easy. What I want to
happen, is that with the information entering in the first table, I
want a second table to simplify that information. For example:

Here is the general idea of the first table:

Number Type

     1 A

     2 B

     5 D

     3 A

     1 C

     2 B

I want the second table to automatically fill something like this in:

  Number Type

     4 A

     4 B

     1 C

     5 D

I
figure that something like this might require some code, but I am not
sure how to go about doing that. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks..

Infopath 2003 Repeating Table Help

Hi.
