I have added a second repeating table but cannot get the numbering to continue from the previous table. Is this possible. I am currently using an expression box with the following XPath expression to determine the numbering... ../my:RoomCounterItem + (count(preceding-sibling::my:RoomObservationCollection) div 10) with roomCounterItem incrementing on each item added to the repeating section using a counter rule. the first column always shows as 1 as opposed to 1.1. Is there a better way to have the columns numbered in this way and is it possible to have this numbering continue in a second repeating table.

Re: repeating sections within a layout table with a border

Hi Leonj007 and welcome,

Matt Faus wrote a blog on how to do this: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/matt/archive/2005/11/29/Repeat-Table-Headers-Across-Multiple-Printed-Pages.aspx

It's not simple, but can be done.

repeating sections within a layout table with a border

I am using a single cell layout table with a border so that each page of my form appears with a border. Contained within the table is a repeating section. When users fill out the form they can add as many sections as they require. How do I prevent the layout table from extending off the page when adding sections so that when the end of a page is reached the next section appears in a new table on the next page and doesn't extend the bottom of the table onto the next page.
