- verify that everyone is on Outlook 2007 with the latest Service Packs

- try "repairing" their Office install via Control Panel's Add/Remove programs

- is it happening because people are replying to XML forms using e-mail? those won't be going to the same folders since they are not XML.

- can you call Microsoft and ask them to investigate? Sounds like a bug.

However, we are seeing that this is not always the case and are having a hard time wrapping our heads around why it works for some and not others.

Re: Infopath Email form in SharePoint - Form in Outlook?

Good questions.

InfoPath integrates with Outlook. You can create InfoPath form folders that show columns for the promoted properties in your form. This is way cool.

Typically, Outlook recognizes when an XML form is sent via InfoPath and tags it appropriately. You can set up a rule to move those forms to a separate InfoPath forms folder in Outlook. When someone goes to fill out a form via Outlook it will get the cached version. However, if the form template resides on a server, auto-update should work and the user will get the newer version.

Happy trails!

Infopath Email form in SharePoint - Form in Outlook?

We have deployed an Infopath Form into SharePoint that uses an Email Submit (sounds wierd, but we do have a reason). We've noticed that this actually shows up as an Infopath Form Template in some of our user's Outlook. We're wondering how/when this happens? Is it upon them first filling it out and submitting? Or if they recieved the email, would it also drop it in the template folder then?

If we update this form, and someone accesses it via Infopath Forms in Outlook, would this be some type of cached, older version?
