Hope you're doing great.

The best way to approach this is to use a multiple-selection list box. As your list pulls out, check boxes are automatically created before your option names. You can even allow users to enter custom values if you wish.

Hope that helps.

Cheers!

Building a Multi-selection Option in InfoPath using a SharePoint List

I have a task I am trying to do in InfoPath but since I am relatively new to the product, I am not even sure if this is the best way to go about it.

I have a SharePoint list which contains a list of option names which I will display on an Info Path form and then have the user select check boxes next to the names of the options they wish.

My original thought was to use a repeating table to display the options names from the SharePoint list and then add the check boxes to the layout. That won't work because if I add the check box to the repeating table, it must be a part of the associated group. But I don't want to have the check box field defined within the data connection.

So I decided to move forward showing the option names in a list box and adding the check boxes to the left of the names so it will be obvious which ones they are associated with. (The results of that attempt are shown in the attached WORD doc.) As ou can see, the check boxes and the option names don't line up properly.

Does anyone have an idea about how I can do this? Perhaps a whole new direction or perhaps a tip on how to massage what I already have to get it to work?
