Go to Advanced and add a rule. In the rule, specify an action to set a fields value using a function and hte function is concat of the other fields. You'll need to use the eval(eval...)) style functional repeater to concat all values. Google search for "InfoPath eval" for more info on that. There should be an example for concatenating To: e-mail addresses. Same idea. Good luck!

Re: Merge Blank Rows of a column in Repeating tables

Thanks for your suggestion.

May I know how to concatenate the fields in the onsubmit event. Can it be written as a rule in the form instead of code behind??

Re: Merge Blank Rows of a column in Repeating tables

Hi Reuben,

SharePoint doesn't handle repeating sections or tables. There are a few tricks you can do: for example, you can add a rule to your form (OnSubmit) that concatenates the fields into a separate field and promote that instead. Or, you can write code and save the fields to a separate list. Or you could export to Excel and use the Excel to go to SharePoint. Or, you could just map the data to a SQL database and use a SharePoint data view to view it.

If you don't have much data, I'd try the concat option for now. If you have a lot of data, I'd try to get it into SQL and use a data view. Good luck!

Merge Blank Rows of a column in Repeating tables

Hi,

I want to merge a field(column) in a repeating table and publish in the sharepoint site.

The field is a dropdown list and the dropdownlist has a blank row at first. I want to merge only those entries that does not contain blank row and publish.

When I publish is the SP site, it displays blank rows in the SP columns entries. But I don't want to have blank rows to be displayed in the Sharepoint site.

How to go about doing this functionality. Kindly suggest.

Thanks,
