Once verify the data type of the field in which you are entering the data. If you enter the invalid data then it will show the red dotted line. Make sure that the data you are entering in that field is valid.

Re: Getting a validation error on a textbox

Are you sure you're not using data validation? The red dotted lines around the box are when the data you input is not valid, which can be when you put the wrong type of data in a box (text in a number field, text in a date field, etc), or if your value does not fall within a specified parameter. If you simply have checked the box of "Cannot be blank," then this should not happen.

You mentioned that you are toggling the "required field" attribute. Are you doing this with code?

Getting a validation error on a textbox

Hi,

I'm really hoping this is a simply thing to fix!

I've a form which has two option buttons depending on the option selected it toggles two text boxes on and off for being required fields.

This all works fine, however when the boxes are required when entering any text the text box has a red dotted line border and the form is unable to be processed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Dan
